Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat wants karate to be a top achiever in 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.

Djarot told, all this time karate has never won in Asian Games. Hence, as the host, karate is hoped could give best achievement in the championship.
"As the host, it would be embarrassing if we're only on 20th position. Our target is top ten," he told, after he welcomed the representatives of Indonesia Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF) at City Hall, Tuesday (9/29).

Besides, he added, his side appealed athletes who will compete to prepare themselves starting from now.
